In-Studio COVID-19 Safety Standards & Policies

The health and safety of our clients and instructors remains our top priority. We have outlined here the details of the precautionary measures we are taking to keep our studios clean and our community safe, and the policies we uphold to allow our studio to remain a safe environment for all.

ONE-TIME PROOF OF VACCINATION IS REQUIRED.
One-time proof of vaccination is required for anyone teaching or taking class in-person at our studio. If you are fully vaccinated, please email info@modernbarrestudio.com with a picture of your vaccine card, or bring it to the studio and show your instructor the next time you arrive at the studio. You will only need to show proof of vaccination once, and we will mark your Mindbody account accordingly.

THOROUGH CLEANING OF OUR STUDIO OCCURS BEFORE AND AFTER EVERY CLASS.

We thoroughly clean all surfaces, floors, barres, and equipment before and after every class. Deep cleaning of all shared spaces and surfaces occur daily. In addition to regularly cleaning our studio with disinfectant, all equipment is sanitized using disinfectant wipes after every use. Hand soap is available in the restroom at all times.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS PREFERRED.

Class sizes are strictly limited to 15 clients per class. To uphold these class size restrictions, we ask that all clients pre-register through MindBody for in-studio classes at least one hour prior to class. Cancellations must be made through MindBody at least 12 hours prior to class to avoid losing your class credit so that wait-listed clients can join.

STUDIO EQUIPMENT WILL BE SANITIZED BEFORE & AFTER EVERY CLASS.

Studio equipment will be available for use. If they prefer, clients can continue to bring their own equipment - mat, set of light weights (1-3 lb.), and bands. All studio equipment will be thoroughly sanitized before and after every class.

CLIENTS & INSTRUCTORS MUST MONITOR THEIR HEALTH BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS.

If clients have any symptoms of COVID-19 as outlined by the CDC, they will not be permitted to attend class until they are no longer displaying symptoms for a 14 day period. Additionally, clients who have been exposed to others who display symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 are not permitted to attend classes for a period of 14 days. (Enjoy our Virtual or On Demand classes in the meantime!) Clients who cancel for reasons related to COVID-19 will not be subject to any late fees and will have their class credit returned. The same policies will be upheld for instructors.

OUR INSTRUCTING APPROACH HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

We have modified our instructing approach for the time being to ensure proper distance between clients and instructor. No hands-on corrections will be given (verbal cueing only), and instructors will demonstrate exercises from an appropriate distance from clients. Additionally, while our Lavender Cool Down will remain as the calming, centering end to our class, we will be omitting the individual touch for the foreseeable future.

In addition to our own precautionary measures, we are sharing these reminders from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others, even if you do not feel sick.

  • Be alert for symptoms. Watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

*Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
