In-Studio COVID-19 Safety Standards & Policies
While we are excited for the reopening of our in-studio classes, the health and safety of our clients and instructors remains our top priority. We have outlined here the details of the precautionary measures we will be taking to keep our studios clean and our community safe, and the policies we will uphold to allow this reopening to succeed.
THOROUGH CLEANING OF OUR STUDIO WILL OCCUR BEFORE AND AFTER EVERY CLASS.
We will be thoroughly cleaning all surfaces, floors, barres, and equipment (when used) before and after every class with disinfectant. Deep cleaning of all shared spaces and surfaces will occur daily. We are using a non-toxic, hospital grade disinfectant, Force of Nature. This product is on the EPA's list of Disinfectants for use against COVID-19. In addition to regularly cleaning our studio with disinfectant, each client will have access to hand sanitizer and a bottle of Force of Nature spray for use at their personal spot at the barre. Hand soap will be available in the restroom at all times. Read more about Force of Nature products on their website here.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED (NO WALK-IN CLIENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED).
Class sizes will be strictly limited to 7 clients per class. To uphold these class size restrictions, all clients must be pre-registered through MindBody for in-studio classes at least one hour prior to class. Regretfully, no walk-in clients will be accepted for the time being. Doors will open 10 minutes prior to class start time. Please remain in your car until then. Please try to arrive dressed for class and limit restroom use to emergencies only. Cancellations must be made through MindBody at least 12 hours prior to class to avoid losing your class credit so that wait-listed clients can join.
CLIENTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN MAT AND WEIGHTS.
For the time being, no equipment from the studio will be available for use. Clients will be responsible for bringing their own mat and a set of light weights (1-3 lbs.) to class. If you do not own a mat, a beach towel can be used instead, or there will be a small supply of mats available for purchase at the studio. Substitutes such as soup cans or filled water bottles can be used in place of weights. For the time being, classes will be designed so that no other equipment will be required. When appropriate, we will begin reintroducing the use of other equipment, such as bands and balls, at which point we will implement a stringent sanitation process for studio equipment.
CLIENTS & INSTRUCTORS MUST WEAR A MASK OR FACE COVERING AT ALL TIMES.
Everyone must bring and wear a mask at all times (during class as well). Clients who arrive without one will not be permitted to participate in class. While we understand there may be concerns when it comes to exercising with a mask, this remains a state mandate. Masks can be removed briefly for the purpose of staying hydrated only, and must be immediately put back on. If you need to take a longer break from wearing your mask during class, we ask that you step outside before taking off your mask, and return when you are ready.
CLIENTS & INSTRUCTORS MUST MONITOR THEIR HEALTH BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS.
If clients have any symptoms of COVID-19 as outlined by the CDC, they will not be permitted to attend class until they are no longer displaying symptoms for a 14 day period, or until they have been cleared by a doctor. Additionally, clients who have been exposed to others who display symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 are not permitted to attend classes for a period of 14 days. (Enjoy our Virtual studio classes in the meantime!) Clients who cancel for reasons related to COVID-19 will not be subject to any late fees and will have their class credit returned. The same policies will be upheld for instructors. All clients returning to in-studio classes will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging our COVID-19 health check guidelines.
SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES WILL BE IN PLACE WHILE ENTERING THE STUDIO.
There will be one door designated as our studio entrance. The lobby area will not be available, and instead we will ask clients to enter directly to the main studio, bringing all personal materials (mats, weights, bags, shoes, etc.) with them to their designated spot at the barre. Lines will be marked along the barre indicating spots for clients to lay out their mats. These lines have been marked so that there is a distance of 7 feet between each client, as well as the instructor. Each spot at the barre will be equipped with hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray. Clients will be asked to sanitize their hands upon arriving at their designated spot.
OUR INSTRUCTING APPROACH WILL BE MODIFIED TO MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.
In addition to maintaining appropriate distance between clients, we will also be modifying our instructing approach to ensure proper distance between clients and instructor. For the time being, no hands-on corrections will be given (verbal cueing only), and instructors will demonstrate exercises from an appropriate distance from clients. Additionally, while our Lavender Cooldown will remain as the calming, centering end to our class, we will be omitting the individual touch for the foreseeable future.
WE WILL INFORM CLIENTS IF THEY ATTEND CLASS WITH A CLIENT WHO TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19.
If you have attended a class and later test positive for COVID-19, we ask that you please inform us immediately. If a client or instructor who has attended a class is to test positive for COVID-19, we will inform all clients who have come into contact with that individual. Confidentiality of that individual will of course be upheld.
In addition to our own precautionary measures, we are sharing these reminders from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people when possible.
Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others, even if you do not feel sick.
Be alert for symptoms. Watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
Fever or chills
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Muscle or body aches
New loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
*Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
